I’ve never participated in ARC August but I think this is the year to join. Since I’m trapped inside so much, I may have gone a little crazy requesting e-ARCs and I need to get them read. Check out my List for ARC August!

What’s ARC August? It’s a fun and no-pressure readathon for ARCs (or advance reader copies) hosted by the lovely ladies at Read.Sleep.Repeat.

My List for ARC August:
I’ll give you a little background on each book and how I picked it. I generally try to read ARCS in publication date order so that’s the way these are organized. My goal is to get through at least the five August releases and then do the best I can to get to some September titles.
AUGUST RELEASES
August 4: The Night Swim by Megan Goldin – I’ve been reading thrillers like crazy during the pandemic. This one is podcast inspired, which I love, so I was excited to dive in (hahaha see what I did there?) Now that I’ve finished, I can say that was a tough read about sexual assault – my review will be up next week! ADULT- FINISHED!
August 4: The Comeback by Ella Berman – This just got announced as a Today Show book club pick. It’s a Hollywood story with #MeToo themes. I’m reading this now! ADULT – FINISHED!
August 18: Who’s That Earl? by Susanna Craig – I’ve also been reading a lot of romances lately. I have not had the best luck with historical romance recently, but this one has a cool modern cover and is set in Scotland. Fingers crossed! ADULT
August 18: Three Perfect Liars by Heidi Perks – okay, this cover and title makes it seem like a cross between Little Fires Everywhere and Big Little Lies … and I was drawn in. ADULT
August 18: The Less Dead by Denise Mina – I have been a Mina fan for a very long time and I loved Conviction so much – I was jumping up and down when I got approved. ADULT.
August 18: Loathe at First Sight by Suzanne Park – I really enjoyed Park’s YA debut so I’m excited about this one! ADULT.
SEPTEMBER RELEASES
September 1: When No One Is Watching by Alyssa Cole. Hello, thriller set in Brooklyn. You are perfect for me! ADULT.
September 1: Inconvenient Woman by Stéphanie Buelens – Okay, I DID say I was reading a lot of thrillers. This one sounds pretty dark, about a woman who is convinced that her ex-husband killed their daughter. ADULT.
September 8: All Stirred Up by Brianne Moore – I have two rom coms with cooking themes coming up (the other in October) and I’m excited. ADULT.
September 8: One by One by Ruth Ware – This author does the whole “trapped with a killer” trope so well. This time it’s a corporate retreat that gets snowed in. Sounds like And Then There Were None! ADULT.
September 8: Nobody Knows But You by Annica Mrose Rissi – finally a YA, this one a thriller. YA.
September 8: These Vengeful Hearts by Katherine Laurin – another YA, this one about a secret society. YA.
September 15: Grown by Tiffany D. Jackson – a young, aspiring singer is caught up in the death of a male R & B artist. YA.
September 22: And Now She’s Gone by Rachel Howzell – Yep, another thriller. Sorrynotsorry. A “cat and mouse game between two complicated women.” ADULT.
September 29: Ties That Tether by Jane Igharo – a woman who has promised her mother she’d marry a Nigerian man must struggle with her promise. ADULT.
Are you participating? Link me up to your list in comments! If you’re not, are you planning to read any of these?

So many books! Good luck that’s a lot of ARCs to get through, but you’re inside a lot so now is the time for reading isn’t it? I saw Who’s That Earl about but didn’t commit to reading because it’s not the usual romance cover (yes, I am wary when things look different) so I hope you enjoy it and I’ll need to check it out.
It’s HOT here so I’m definitely stuck inside. Which is good for reading!
You’ve got some great reads lined up, I can’t wait to read Grown!
Same – I am very excited for that one!
When No One is Watching is already on my radar so I’ll be curious to see what you think of it when you get to it.
Thanks – look forward to discussing it!
I’m not participating but I have just started reading An Inconvenient Woman, I’m still early in but I have no idea what’s going to happen! Enjoy your books!
Oooh, I hope it’s good! Keep me posted!
First of all – how is it already August?? I only have 2 ARC’s for August.
I’m looking forward to Cole’s even though I’m not a big thriller reader. I want to be lol
