I just discovered you and I am an avid thriller reader! The Armchair Book Club would appear to be a comfortable fit!!
Welcome, Patricia and pull up that Armchair! I do reviews (mostly thrillers, but a few other books) but the discussion posts are the most fun. I’m also started a monthly newsletter featuring thrillers I’m excited about that are coming out that month.
Just finished reading the Paper Palace. I’ll be leading the discussion with my book club. Have to say i did not like the book so it will be interesting to see what the other women in my book club think. Really didn’t like many of the characters except maybe Peter but then he was too perfect. And why did he like Elle so much? She seems to draw the attention of both men–why? What was her appeal?
Haha you have a point. The women in her family seem to have a lot of appeal, often to the wrong kind of men.
Please come back and let us know if your group was divided on who Elle chose. Our main discussion is here:
Spoiler Discussion for the Paper Palace
Is it possible that Elle chose neither? Maybe she’s going to run her life and accept responsibility for her actions without male support. Jonas is creepy and stalks Elle in a different way from Conrad. Peter has just settled. They both talk about “love.” Too much talk! I found I didn’t like Elle much throughout the book. Redemption could be her accepting her independence. That kind of action might make me like her more.
I think it’s possible that she went to have one last “swim” with Jonas and left them both. Come join us on the main discussion here:
