My Review with Spoilers for What Have You Done by Shari Lapena discusses how different this book is from her past titles. I’m a big Shari Lapena fan ( I rank all her books here) and I was surprised. What Have You Done, Shari Lapena and will YOU like the book? Let’s talk about it! Spoilers are hidden so read without fear!

What Have You Done by Shari Lapena: Jen’s Quick Take

- A multi-POV story (I stopped counting at 14 POVs) about the murder of a high school student
- Lots of suspects
- Plenty of small town intrigue
- There’s a paranormal Lovely Bones element in which the victim narrates from the grave
- Had a bit of a YA feel
- Opinions are a bit divided on Goodreads. If you don’t like books with many narrators, it might not be for you. But I really enjoyed this book, even if it’s not typical for this author!

Review of What Have You Done with Spoilers
Even though What Have You Done had two elements I’m not fond of, I still really enjoyed it!
FIRST: I don’t usually like “from the grave” narration. But Diana’s POV didn’t pop up all that much and I got used to it.
SECOND: I’m not usually a fan of books with more than three (or so) POVs. But I do find exceptions, like this recent vacation thriller.
Maybe it’s my long history of reviewing YA books that made me feel right at home in this story, as What Have You Done had a number of teenage characters.
There were a large number of suspects and people with information on the case, and I actually didn’t mind hearing from all of them.
My only issue with the book is that I thought the identity of the killer was both predictable and a little disappointing. But I enjoyed What Have You Done overall, and liked it better than Lapna’s latest, Everyone Here is Lying.
