08.18.2020 by Jen Ryland // 4 Comments

More publication date changes but still a good group of new titles this week. Check out my list of New YA Books Releasing August 18

New YA Books Releasing August 18

New YA Books Releasing August 18 2020

My take on August 18? Illustrated covers have TAKEN OVER THE WORLD. I’m not mad about it, but it’s a lot – though I didn’t include every cover.

All Eyes on Her by L.E. Flynn – boy and a girl go into the woods and only one comes out.

Dating Makes Perfect by Pintip Dunn

New YA Books Releasing August 18: Displacement

Displacement by Kiku Hughes – in this graphic novel a girl is drawn backwards to relive her grandmother’s experience in a WWII internment camp for Americans of Japanese heritage.

Don’t Ask Me Where I’m From by Jennifer DeLeon – Liliana, who’s Latinx, is selected for a program that sends her to an all-white school. This book’s release date has been changed twice, so show a fellow Jen some support!

New YA Books Releasing August 18: The Faithless Hawk

The Faithless Hawk (Merciful Crow #2) by Margaret Owen

Ignite the Sun

Ignite the Sun by Hanna Howard – in a kingdom ruled by a witch, a girl tries to fight the darkness and restore the light.

Raybearer by Jordan Ifueko – Tarasai’s mother sends her to the capitol for a royal competition.

The Secret Runners by Matthew Reilly – an apocalyptic story set in New York.

Six Angry Girls by Adrienne Kisner – two girls meet in a “politically active yarn store” (lolol) and form a mock trial team.

Skywatchers by Carrie Arcos –a genre-bending story set during the 1950s Cold War

Vicious Spirits (Gumiho #2) by Kat Cho – the sequel to Wicked Fox

What Goes Up by Christine Hepperman – a novel in verse about betrayal and redemption

A few Adult Books That Release August 18

Here are a few adult books you might like!

Three Perfect Liars by Heidi Perks – whoops, this is one of my reviews books. How is it August 18? How did that happen, exactly?

The Switch by Beth O’Leary – I listened to the audiobook of this charming, heart-warming story of a granddaughter and her grandmother who swap places – definitely recommend it!

Little Disasters by Sarah Vaughan – a thriller about a young mother who discovers a terrible secret about her friend. Check out my review of Anatomy of a Scandal and how it compares to the Netflix show!

I downloaded the audio of Raybearer (it was an August libro.fm freebie) we’ll see how it goes since I’m not a huge fantasy reader.

Ooh, let me know how you like it. I have had some success with fantasy audiobooks, depending on the reader.
