I love finding out what other people are watching, so I like to tell you what I’ve been watching and streaming from time to time! Welcome to Jen Watches Winter 2019, in which I will discuss what I’ve been watching – streaming – DVRing lately…
Jen Watches Winter 2019

Dirty John – I loved the podcast. I did like the show, even though I already knew the story. I thought Connie Britton and Eric Bana and the whole cast were fantastic. My only criticism is that I think the show had too many episodes – it seemed way too drawn out and I wasn’t a fan of the “Affair” style episode that featured events from John’s point of view. But overall, I do recommend this!

The People vs. OJ Simpson – my husband convinced me to watch this. I guess I was busy with school in the 90s – I remembered a lot of random things about the trial but I certainly wasn’t glued to Court TV. I thought the script was really interesting – it tackled issues of racism and police corruption but also issues of feminism, friendship, and loyalty. What I didn’t expect was the way it offered insight into a time that pre-dated our current obsession with celebrity culture and social media – and shows how the Kardashians were a part of that even before Kim and her infamous tape. The cast was fantastic too.

Tidying Up – My friends say I should be a professional organizer, so of course I’ve read Marie Kondo’s book. Some of the things I found a little wacky in the book, like saying thanks to your possessions, made more sense on screen. Kondo flits around people’s piles of junk in her cute little sweater and skirt outfits and spreads calm and order. Not sure if I will watch all the episodes because seeing all those piles of stuff really stresses me out! I wonder if Marie is screaming inside too??
I feel like I’m forgetting something but I guess I can put it in a later post. What should I be watching? Please tell me as I’m running out of things…

Hahaha quite possibly!
