  • The Wife Stalker might be my favorite twisty domestic suspense book
  • The twist was just so unexpected and surprising
  • Not everything made sense, but that can happen in a Big Twist Book

Review of The Wife Stalker by Liv Constantine

The Wife Stalker was a fun domestic suspense novel with a HUGE twist that left me a little unsatisfied at the end.

The Wife Stalker is a classic domestic suspense book about a rivalry between two women in love with the same man. Joanna worries about Leo, who seems so troubled by his problems at work that he’s distant from both her and his children.

Enter Piper, the very attractive director of the new wellness center in town. Stressed-out Leo signs up for a meditation course there and starts spending more and more time with Piper. Soon the two of them get VERY cozy, leaving Joanna upset and confused.

So Joanna decides to find out more about her rival. She does a little online research and what she discovers horrifies her. Piper doesn’t have the best luck with husbands. Like … they mysteriously die!

But Leo refuses to listen.

I was really enjoying this story of wronged woman Joanna and her quest for revenge.

It was easy for me to relate to Joanna and I enjoyed her investigative work on who Piper really was. I could see where I thought the book was going and was waiting for Leo to finally see that terrible Piper for who she really was. *rubs hands together*

Now, About that Ending (Spoiler Free)

Then I got to the ending and… WHOA. It left me very surprised. Honestly, the surprise was good but the ending also left me a bit unsatisfied. I love a good twist as much as anyone and I really didn’t predict this one.

Gif Wait What

But I didn’t feel like all the questions I had were answered. And I felt that the emotional trajectory of the story got dramatically shifted and that the ending was too abrupt.

I don’t want to say more and spoil anything, so if you’ve read The Wife Stalker (or are looking for spoilers for The Wife Stalker) PLEASE come to my spoiler page and let’s talk!

I also watched the new 2025 Wife Stalker movie and have THOUGHTS. Come to my spoiler post and let’s chat!

WARNING — SPOILERS BELOW:

I just finished reading The Wife Stalker. My question is: Does the ending indicate that Piper killed her first husband, second husband and stepdaughter? To me, it sounded like she did, but I’m curious about how other readers interpreted it…

Honestly I’m not 100% sure. At first I thought yes. Then I thought no, that was just another character’s crazy fantasy. But that very last line makes me think yes.
