New Adaptations to Stream | Summer and Fall 2026
This summer and fall, adaptations of some very different books are headed to your streaming queue.
- Out now: I Will Find You, the propulsive Harlan Coben thriller that reminded me of The Fugitive coming on Netflix.
- In July there’s Five-Star Weekend, Elin Hilderbrand’s female-centered Nantucket friendship story on Peacock.
- Coming in August to Netflix, The Whistper Man, Alex North’s fan favorite psychological thriller on Netflix.
- In October, the adaptation of Verity, Colleen Hoover’s dark modern gothic hits the big screen.
- In November, The Good Daughter, Karin Slaughter’s soul-shattering crime novel about two sisters will air on Peacock

I Will Find You by Harlan Coben
Netflix: Streaming June 18, 2026
What: David Burroughs is serving a life sentence for the murder of his young son: a crime he has always insisted he didn’t commit. When he learns that his son may actually be alive, David breaks out of prison and races against time to uncover the truth.
Why: Harlan Coben has become synonymous with Netflix thrillers like Fool Me Once and Hold Tight.
Will Find You is Coben’s first US-set adaptation. The eight-episode series promises to be twisty and addictive.

The Five Star Weekend by Elin Hilderbrand
Peacock: Streaming July 9, 2026
What: A beachy female-forward story about love and loss. When beloved food blogger Hollis Shaw suffers a devastating loss, she does what she does best: mourn, and then make her life into content for her blog. Inspired by another woman’s idea, Hollis invites one friend from each decade of her life to her home on Nantucket for a long weekend.
Why: Watching a beachy friendship story in the summer. With friends, if you like!

The Whisper Man by Alex North
Netflix: Streaming August 28, 2026
What: After the death of his wife, Tom Kennedy moves with his young son Jake to a small town, desperate for a fresh start. Then a child goes missing nearby and the details echo a decades-old case: a convicted serial killer who preyed on lonely little boys by whispering to them through their bedroom windows. The Whisper Man is still in prison. So who is doing this now?
Why: Fans of Alex North like me have been hoping that this fan favorite book would be adapted. The Netflix series has a STELLAR cast. Read it first … but maybe not alone at night.

The Good Daughter by Karin Slaughter
Peacock: Streaming November 12, 2026
What: Twenty years ago, a single night of violence shattered the Quinn family. Sisters Charlotte and Samantha have rebuilt their lives as best they can. Charlotte works a lawyer in their small Georgia town, while Sam has moved away to try to put the past behind her. But when tragedy strikes Pikeville again and Charlie is a witness, buried secrets surface with devastating results.
Why: Netflix adapted Pieces of Her back in 2022 and I really enjoyed it. Start the book now; you’ll have it finished well before fall. If you’re a Karin Slaughter fan, you MUST read We Are All Guilty Here!

Verity by Colleen Hoover
Coming to Theaters October 2 2026
What: Struggling writer Lowen Ashleigh is hired by the husband of bestselling author Verity Crawford to finish some of her manuscripts. But as Lowen moves into their Vermont home, starts going through Verity’s papers, and gets to know Verity’s husband and young son, she begins to fall into a dark spiral of lust, secrets and deception.
Why: Colleen Hoover’s book is a bit controversial with both romance readers (who don’t see a HEA) and thriller readers (who find it too sexed-up) but I think this dark modern gothic tale will make an AMAZING movie.
