Freebie Friday: Take a Hint Dani Brown

by // 2 Comments

Hooray – Freebie Friday is BACK. I’m so excited about this Freebie Friday for Take a Hint, Dani Brown! Enter now through July 23!

Freebie Friday: Take a Hint, Dani Brown

If, like me, you are in need of a little humor and romance in your life, you need to enter for a chance to win this copy of Take a Hint, Dani Brown. This adorable rom com is as bright and sunny as its cover! This giveaway is open to US only, sorry!

Why will you love Dani Brown? Let me count the ways. Dani is a sister in a close-knit family. She’s an academic. She’s a little bit cynical about love. Zaf is big and burly on the outside but anxious and hiding a little from life on the inside. When Dani and Zaf (who’s the security guard in the building where Dani works) have an accidental meet cute, they go viral as a couple and decide to enter into a fauxmance. Dani won’t fall in love … or will she?

You can read my review of Take a Hint, Dani Brown here and you can find out more about the book here.

This giveaway is over and the winner is Daisy. Please follow me by email (put your email address in the box above this post) to be in the know about all future giveaways!

If you are looking for honest reviews of recent rom coms, then check out Rom Com a Thon here!

Save Small Businesses Giveaway April 20!

Save Small Businesses Giveaway

My friend Karen @FWIW Reviews had a great idea for a giveaway and I’m joining her!  Enter the Save Our Small Businesses Giveaway for April 20!

Every week, I will draw a winner who can choose either a) a $25 gift card to the business of their choice or b) a $25 online donation in their name to the charity of their choice.

The only rule is that it has to be something I can order or donate to online and from the U.S. I’d love to support small businesses or local organizations, but if you live in a rural area or for any other reason prefer a gift card for a large retailer, that is perfectly fine.

This past week I needed ground coffee and a humidifier, and instead of going to my usual big online retailers, I found small businesses to support. It was a good feeling. Try Bluestone Lane Coffee – it’s delicious!

NICE (New Immigrant Community Empowerment) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of workers with unstable income, with a focus on day laborers, domestic workers, and newly arrived immigrants. Right now in NYC they are distributing boxes of groceries to needy members of these vulnerable communities and helping connect them with other resources.

Last week’s winner was Danielle and she chose a Gift Card to Nicola’s Books – you can find more information on them here!

Here are two NYC organizations I am supporting:

The Animal Medical Center – this is the world’s largest non-profit animal hospital and it’s right here in NYC. It’s a teaching hospital that provides care to all types of animals. The provide free health care for guide dogs for the blind and also take care of the NYPD police dogs. They are amazing!

The Central Park Conservancy – during these times when New Yorkers are stuck inside for most of the day, the park offers a refuge and a respite. This non-profit, with the help of donations and volunteers, helps take care of this historic park and makes sure it stays beautiful for future generations!
