New Mystery and Thriller Books | November and December 2026 Releases
The fall book release calendar tapers off as the holidays ramp up, so I typically combine November and December into one roundup.

Here’s everything to consider for your TBR before the year wraps up.

The New November and December 2026 Mystery and Thriller Books I’ll Be Reading
NOVEMBER 3

The Heights by Ian Rankin
What It’s About: The concierge of a luxury London high rise is found dead.
Why I picked it: I’ve enjoyed Rankin’s books in the past and am hoping this one has all the sinister vibes of The Paris Apartment and She Didn’t See it Coming.

Happily After the Murders by Rae Wilde
What It’s About: Two retired women go on the run when a murder they committed threatens to come to light.
Why I Picked It: I’m loving the trend of later in life murders and detectives in books like Mad Mabel and The Thursday Murder Club.

This Jury is Guilty by Laurie Blake
What It’s About: A tense locked-room mystery featuring a sequestered jury.
Why I Picked It: I love legal thrillers (check out Dissection of a Murder if you haven’t already) and hope this one will become a new favorite!
NOVEMBER 10

Before I Disappear by Cate Quinn
What It’s About: A criminologist wakes up in a remote motel with amnesia.
Why I Picked It: I enjoyed The Clinic by Cate Quinn and, although I am hit or miss on amnesia books, I did love The Gallery Assistant and Stay Awake, so hoping I can add this to my recommendation list.

Party in the Woods by Fiona McPhillips
What It’s About: A woman reunites with old friends after new evidence in a murder is uncovered.
Why I Picked It: When We Were Silent was a great book (and also about old classmates and a cold case) and I’m excited to try this one.

The Terrarium by Katie Collom
What It’s About: A cat sitter and true crime fanatic gets hired by a sinister new client.
Why I Picked It: This title has some buzz and though I’m allergic to cats, I love the premise.
DECEMBER 1

Eyes on You by Adele Parks:
What It’s About: A woman who testified against her father in the murder of his lover must face him again after he’s released from prison
Why I Picked It: I read and enjoyed Our Beautiful Mess and First Wife’s Shadow by Adele Parks (I do love some domestic suspense!) I did not request this one as I’m drowning in fall books, but if you read it, come back and give us all your take in comments.
